Quality management is one of the concepts, in which the term “management” is used. We use this word regularly, yet do we ever give a real thought about its true meaning?
What is hidden behind the word “management”? Usually, we use this term, when referring to all management tasks in such a system, where the division of duties is carried out while producing some product or services and ensuring their performance. In the standard ISO 9000, the term “management” is defined as “all the activities that are used to coordinate, direct, and control organizations”.
What is the main idea behind the term “quality”? According to the standard DIN EN ISO 9000, the quality applies to objects and refers to the degree to which a set of inherent characteristics fulfils a set of requirements or, simply put, it is the compliance to the customer’s needs and expectations.

For three years the experts-representatives of 95 countries have worked on correctional measures for the adjustment of the latest version of the standard ISO 9001 to the modern needs. The latest version of the standard – ISO 9001:2015 “Quality management systems” was published on September 23rd, 2015.
The development of quality management system, which corresponds to the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2015, its implementation and maintenance in the working order is impossible without the employees, who know the general principles of quality management, as well as the requirements of the international standard ISO.
