The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) full onshore is training for wind turbine technicians planning to work on onshore wind farms. The training program of this GWO course includes 4 modules: First Aid, Working at Heights, Manual Handling, and Fire Awareness. A Basic Safety Training certificate is required for the vast majority of positions in the wind power sector.
Target audience:
Personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields, and will have their duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or an offshore wind structure.
Personnel that perform job functions that have been risk assessed by their employer or their workplace duty holder as a function, where training according to one or more modules of the BST standard may mitigate the identified risks.
The aim of the course:
These BST wind turbine courses shall enable delegates to support and care for themselves and others working in the industry by possessing the knowledge and skills of first aid, working at heights, manual handling, and fire awareness. This wind technician training is aimed at teaching the ability to evacuate, rescue, and provide appropriate first aid to casualties in case of an emergency.
