As was announced before, from 30 May 2025, all Technicians undergoing IRATA assessments – including new candidates registering for Level 1 – must be registered on IRATA TechConnect before their assessment.
We’ve completed the first registrations with our trainees, and now we have some advice for those who are going to obtain IRATA Certification.
First of all, don’t delay your registration on TechConnect. Do it as soon as you sign up for the IRATA training course.
Use a passport for identity verification whenever possible; this is the most reliable form of identification.
Other valid forms of photo identification:
- Driving licence
- Government-issued photo ID
Ensure the name entered during registration exactly matches the name shown on the chosen ID. Do not swap first and family names (family name = surname = second name)
Ensure the ID document clearly displays their photograph, full name, and date of birth.
If using an ID card, capture both sides of the ID document, where applicable.
Ensure the photo of the ID is clear, in focus and taken of the original document, not from a photocopy, photograph, or screen.
Ensure liveness check photographs are taken in a well-lit area to produce a clear image that can be matched to the ID. No hats, no sunglasses, no strands of hair hiding your face in the photo.
What else you may miss
‘Activate’ button in the response letter. Don’t skip this step! You will only get confirmation of registration on the site after you finish the whole process.
Address must be the same you will put later in your assessment form. All your personal data must be completely the same in TechConnect and in your Technician Assessment Form you will fill in on exam.
